Feedback from PISTOL PROF Classes ~
"Spurred on by friends’ and family’s conversations of buying hand guns and going out to a range to use them, I went on the hunt for an instructor that had real credentials, great reviews, and a true ability to teach. After a lot of searching and reading reviews, the ONLY instructor that was qualified to help us was Russ Spriggs, a local, Veteran-Owned businessman and certified NRA Instructor. I immediately set up a class for 9 of us - both men and women, ranging from a 17 guy to 60 years old women.
I could write a whole novel on what we learned in just 12 hours. This class is all about learning the right way and how safety first will protect you more than standing at a range and pulling the trigger, hoping you will hit something – or thinking you could defend yourself in an emergency.
Russ brought everything we needed so it was a real hands-on experience as well as solid classroom education. His written classroom information and instructions helped us understand the differences of guns, the differences of ammo, right ammo to use and why, and many other things. For our hands-on training, Russ brought along many guns (no ammo allowed). He brought more than a dozen styles of guns so we could feel the grip in our hands, test if our hand size could lock the trigger, or even hold it to fire safely. Just this taught me that we would have purchased the wrong gun for us.
In our hands-on training and drills, he had both real steel and air soft guns & holsters for each of us. He taught us how to be sure the gun was clear, and how to load and unload the magazines safely. Russ taught us the skills of sight-alignment, breathing right, standing right, proper aim, and safe firing and why that is critical to accuracy. I can guarantee that our entire class can now fire a weapon with accurately and with knowledge. It was all about safety first with Russ, and his positive attitude coupled with his discipline, ensures that we will not forget what is important. We now know safety in handling, using the right ammo, loading/unloading, and respect for the weapon and to never be careless or hasty and yes- to hit your bull’s-eye.
Russ demonstrated a constant focus on making sure we safely handled a gun every minute, for any situation. By the end of the class we were able to hit the target right where we wanted to hit the target; which, after all, is what started this need-to-know adventure, but we added in how to shoot safely and demonstrate real accuracy. This class is the best thing we did for ourselves and I highly recommend Russ Spriggs as the only instructor to trust to teach you or your family.

Thanks for the class! It was a great refresher to handle different brands and models of pistols. I enjoy the laid back nature of the class. I hope we can set up another class soon!
Pastor Warren Luke
Really a good, informative program! I learned a lot, but the best part is that I learned how much I don’t know! Excellent beginner course! Thank you for the experience.
Great class to help you understand all the basic info you need to feel comfortable with a gun. Russell is very patient and you get lots of hands-on training. Ask any question as he is ready to help you understand it all. Can’t wait for the next class.

For someone who has almost no experience with firearms, I found that the instructor was not intimidating. He was very patient and knowledgeable. I liked the fact that we became familiar wit the guns and didn’t actually deal with “live” ammunition. I was uneasy at first, but became relaxed as the class progressed. A good Experience.
This class was very detailed and enlightening. Russ is a great teacher and I would recommend this class to anyone. I will be looking forward to follow up classes.

Thank You. The class was awesome! I especially enjoyed:
-Handling different pistols to compare; helped me figure out preferences
-Laser lyte – fun!
I’m looking forward to taking the next two classes in this series. *It was also good to see the reality of what happens when safety isn’t followed. Hands, toes – stark reminders.
I know I need more practice with breathing and squeezing the trigger. I also need practice with lining up sites.
You have a gift for teaching that encourages the student to excel.
Thanks Again,
Mia
The class was really good for instilling both an eagerness to grow in regards to gun handling and a confidence overall. I’m able to see what my strengths and weaknesses were and how the handgun helped and impeded my skills.
I really liked that there are more way to practice besides spending a lot on ammo.
Great new skills handling the gun, breathing and trigger control.
I have goals to look forward to.
Wonderful. Looking forward to more of these classes. Anxious to try with my .45. Need to get a different holster for sure. Love the laser bullet.

Enjoyed and learned much. I’ve shot revolvers most of 40+ years and just started with pistols. I learned a lot of pointers on revolvers. Enjoyed the hands on of several pistols.
I didn’t know anything about guns and came away feeling like I can protect my family. Wish this was taught in high school. So many kids are raised hunting but have no knowledge of guns.
Great Class.! Read good guidance on hand grip positions, holster info useful, videos ok but might be slower with more detail.
Nice trigger solutions.
Thanks,
James
Good Intro class for me on safety points -
How to check for bullets
How to align the sights
How to breathe
How to use the holster & draw from the holster
Thank You Russell. I really appreciate you letting me come again. I learned so much more. You teach a terrific class. Hopefully I can do this again and again.
I enjoyed the class. Very informative. I didn’t know anything and learned a lot. Some of it was confusing, but you stepped back and explained it well.
Thank you for having the class.
Iris

-Geometry of grips and holding position
Learned a lot! Was afraid of handling guns and safety is very important to me! So much more to shooting guns than I thought. Good Job of teaching. Looking forward to learning more.

I have learned all the things I was doing wrong and many that I never knew. The class was well taught to the point of understanding what was said. I was self-taught, (not good) and dangerous! Now I have a decent foundation.
Thank You,
Kent
I appreciated the attention to detail that Russell gave for instructing us on how to handle and shoot a firearm. The “Science of the Shot” provided the reasons why we get the reactions we do. Handling the guns was very helpful for choosing a gun for myself and getting the proper instructions for accurate shooting.
Russell was very professional and patient with us. I will recommend this class to others.
I will go home and practice.

I have learned more than I thought. I did not have the foggiest idea before on how to hold a gun properly. A lot of things that I did not know about gun safety, I now know. Russ, you are a great instructor – Thank you very much! I will give your information to others at work. Evelyn C.
I hoped to learn Safety and Basic Proficiency and received solid facts and information. I recommend this class to novices and pros. It is especially helpful to women and a good help for safety. Good Foundation! Daniel C.
I hoped to learn safe gun usage which I learned very much after today’s information. Russell was very informative throughout the whole session. Mercy W.
I picked up many good ideas on how to better handle my weapon. Veterans groups would benefit! Rick H.
I learned familiarity in spades! Hands on is great. Russ is very knowledgeable. I will be talking you up and referring as able! Larry S.
My expectations were absolutely met. I learned a great deal; Thank You! I have a healthy respect for the dangers of firearms. JoAnn S.
I wanted to learn the differences between guns and I did. I want to go home and practice what I learned. I am more confident and I will recommend this class! Lori S.
Very informative for everybody, from novice to expert. You taught the class very well in a laid back, yet professional manner. Phil M.
I just wanted to learn anything new. I learned how to better handle the firearm and really liked having the opportunity to handle other weapons, which helped me rule out a gun I was thinking of (purchasing). I will like and recommend the class on Facebook and anyone I talk to about guns. Suzanne M.
My expectations were exceeded. Thank you! Lito D.
Expectations were met for sure! I feel more confident and less afraid. I will be recommending this workshop to others. There was a lot of good solid information. Jana D.
It was good to get hands on with different guns. I still need more practice to be confident. I will recommend this class to others! Lynda M.
Great to learn proper stance, how to re-rack and keep site alignment. Sam M.
I really didn’t know what to expect. The videos were a lot of good information! I like the hands on part of the class. Charlene P.
